The Conference of Interns in Pneumology 2014 – A breath of fresh air for Romanian Pneumology –
Already at its fourth edition, the Conference of Resident Physicians in Pneumology represents an opportunity for future specialists in pneumology to discover the secrets of their career progress. The Conference was organized by the Romanian Society of Pneumology, with the generous support from GSK pharmaceutical company. There were 33 residents from 7 different pneumology centers. All young doctors had an active participation, presenting clinical cases from their personal and clinical experience. The simple fact that this conference is at its fourth edition demonstrates tradition and continuity, which have been built up over the years. Furthermore, the example of the Romanian Society of Pneumology is now followed by other societies that started to organize similar conferences for junior doctors. Over time we searched for the right structure for this type of meeting. We started with a combination between theoretical presentations and case discussions. However, at junior doctors's request, the strategy was changed. So, for the first time, this year there were no more pure theoretical presentations.

Apparently, this Congress may seem very long in duration, but it always respects the tradition that makes it unique in the landscape of the international events in Pneumology. It is unrivaled by other events as the meeting is comprised of forming separate note of other international pulmonologist meetings.
